Through its unique mode of action, this patented technology helps optimize nutritional absorption and digestion, so animals get more from their feed. An important contributor to immunity and gut health, Balancius® has also been shown to consistently improve feed conversion ratios (the amount of food produced in relation the amount of feed consumed) by 3%. That's a lot of rewards for a small addition.
By targeting the nutrition concealed in cell debris, Balancius® enables broilers to obtain more nutrition from the same amount of feed, enhancing poultry performance and chicken immune system. It thus improves their profitability, reduces their associated environmental footprint, and makes poultry farming more sustainable at one and the same time.
Developed by the dsm-firmenich and Novozymes Feed Enzymes Alliance, this breakthrough feed technology hydrolyzes peptidoglycans from bacterial cell debris in the intestinal tract.
In trials, it has been shown to improve the ability of broilers to absorb and digest nutrients like fats and proteins – as well as boosting the feed conversion ratio (the amount of food produced based on the amount of feed consumed) by up to 3%.
By increasing gut efficiency in poultry, Balancius® has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by an estimated 9 million tons annually, on the basis of estimates produced by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization – the equivalent of taking 3.7 million cars off the road.
Through its unique mode of action, which involves targeting bacterial cell debris, this novel microbial muramidase helps optimize nutrient digestibility and absorption, ensuring that broilers get more from their feed to increase poultry performance, poultry gut health and poultry immunity.
